Tin Spice Box with Inserts – Late 19th Century / Early 20th Century – Cylindrical Spice Tin with Integrated Grater

A cylindrical spice box (spice tin) in painted tin with a hinged lid, carrying handle on top and closing mechanism at the front. Inside, the box contains six removable, smaller tin containers for storing various types of spices, arranged around a central compartment. Mounted on the inside of the lid is an integrated metal grater, originally intended for nutmeg or similar. The box has an older, grey-blue paint finish on the exterior.
