2017 Congo Silverback Gorilla in .999 silver

Large Silverback Gorilla silver coin issued for the Republic of the Congo in 2017. The coin has a face value of 10,000 CFA francs and contains 1 kilogram of .999 fine silver. The front features a powerful silverback gorilla in relief, while the reverse carries the coat of arms of the Republic of the Congo.

The issue was produced by Scottsdale Mint as part of the Congo Silverback Gorilla series. The one-kilogram edition is reported to have a limited mintage of 5,000 pieces. Supplied in a clear plastic capsule. The black display stand shown in some photographs is not included. Authenticity has not been independently certified by OBA; identification is based on the coin's visible design and inscriptions.
