Money Box in Book Form – Oslo Sparebank ca. 1920–30

Classic money box designed as a book from Oslo Sparebank, manufactured by Bankers Utilities Co. in San Francisco. Made of embossed leatherette and metal with a brown finish and decorative corner fittings.

The front depicts the Oslo Sparebank building in relief with the text «Spar mens du har» (Save while you have). The back is decorated with a motif of a child saving, along with the text «Mange bekker små gjør en stor å» (Many small streams make a large river). The spine is designed as a book spine with decorative embossing.

This type of money box was used as an advertising and savings incentive, particularly aimed at children and young people, and is today a sought-after collector's item from the interwar period.
