Wall Plate in Brass and Ceramic, SOB & P Model 258, ca. 1900s

Decorative wall plate from the French manufacturer SOB & P (Société d'Orfèvrerie de Bronze et de Précision), likely dating from around 1900. Crafted in brass with a central medallion in copper/bronze, creating a striking and classic material contrast.

The central section depicts a profile of a historicizing male figure wearing a hat with feathers, modelled in relief. The frame is richly decorated with ornamentation in Neo-Renaissance style, executed in repoussé technique, giving it a detailed and elegant expression. The reverse has a hanging mount and is stamped with the manufacturer's mark and model number.

A decorative collector's item well suited for wall display.
