Handmade Pine Box in Birch Bark, Traditional Folk Craft, Geometric Pattern

A traditional, hexagonal pine box/casket decorated with plaited or applied birch bark in a two-tone geometric checkered pattern (harlequin pattern). The box's core and end pieces are constructed in wood, fitted with sliding lids at both the top and bottom for access to the interior compartments. A typical item within Nordic folk art, used for storing small items.
