Hand-painted bentwood box dated 1903, rosemaling folk art

Decorative hand-painted wooden bentwood box dated 1903. Executed with traditional rosemaling in bold colours and rich floral decoration. The box has a removable lid with a carved grip and is decorated with painted initials on the sides.

• Measurements:
  - Width approx. 29 cm
  - Height approx. 25 cm

• Condition:
  Good condition considering its age. Age-related wear, wear to the paint, minor cracking and drying cracks in the wood, as well as normal signs of use. There is a chip/damage to one of the ear-shaped fittings by the lid, as shown in the photos. Otherwise appears intact and decorative.
