Classic luster jug in cobalt blue faience with original silver lid. The jug features metallic luster decoration against a deep blue ground, and a richly engraved lid set with a coin dated 1768. The elaborate thumbpiece is designed as a heraldic animal and is a characteristic feature of this type of jug.
The lid bears engraved owner's initials and is marked with the maker's mark "JR".
