Åsa Jungnelius

Åsa Jungnelius is a Swedish artist and designer working with glass, sculpture and installations. Kosta Boda dates her association with the company to 2007. The Make-up collection is a documented example of translating ideas from her art into smaller objects for interiors.

Oversized glass lipsticks are a recognised motif in her practice. Such forms should be understood as art or design objects rather than assumed to be cosmetic containers. A lipstick motif alone, however, does not prove a design by Jungnelius or manufacture by Kosta Boda.

For second-hand examples, compare model name, size, colour and execution with the producer’s documentation. Inspect the base and edges for chips and look for repairs. Retain labels and original packaging where available. Distinguish a product range from an independent artwork or a larger installation: information concerning one cannot automatically be transferred to the others.
