The founder's personal name is spelled Alexander Shorokhov, while the brand uses Shorokhoff with two letters f. The person, brand and successive businesses should be distinguished.
The manufacturer's biography first describes a Poljot distribution company established in 1992, followed by the Poljot-International brand in 1994. The manufactory bearing the Alexander Shorokhoff name was established in Alzenau in 2003. The year 1992 should therefore not be used without qualification as the founding date of the manufactory under this name.
The company emphasises hand engraving, finishing, adjustment and assembly. Dial decoration varies; its production account includes hand painting and enamel among methods used for selected works.
