Anette Skaugen Guldager
Anette Skaugen Guldager is a Norwegian jewellery designer who makes silver jewellery incorporating mother of pearl from blue mussel shells. Shells are gathered along the Norwegian coast, particularly near Langesund, and worked before being fitted into the jewellery. She describes production in her own workshop at Stathelle.
Blue, white and dark shell patterns give each insert its individual appearance. Her range includes pendants, rings and cufflinks. The insert is a natural material, so a similar colour or motif alone cannot establish a model or maker. Compare the setting, dimensions and documentation from the producer as well.
The producer specifies 925S silver and provides care advice for the combined materials: keep silver polish off the shell and avoid silver dips. Darkened areas may form part of the intended design, so check before polishing. A fineness mark records information about the metal; it should not by itself be treated as proof of authorship.
