Archimede
Archimede is a German watch brand associated with Ickler in Pforzheim. Ickler makes its watch cases and performs work including engineering, finishing, assembly and inspection. Karl Ickler founded the family business in 1924. That date refers to the company behind the brand and does not date a wristwatch bearing the Archimede name.
The range includes classic watches, pilot's watches, sports watches and models named 1950. Such a model name is not itself a production date. The manufacturer's website describes recent automatic models using Sellita movements. Those specifications should not be applied indiscriminately to older versions.
When assessing a used example, establish the model reference and calibre alongside the case. Compare dial, hands, crown and case back with the correct version. Record alterations and service history. A case made by a known supplier does not by itself prove the brand under which the complete watch was originally sold.
