Ari Pyörälä (Koruari)
Ari Pyörälä is a jewellery artist based in Kautokeino and listed by Norske Kunsthåndverkere. Koruari is the website name given in that register. His own CV records Oulu, Finland, as his birthplace and silversmithing studies at Lahti Goldsmith School in 1995. A Kautokeino address alone does not establish Sámi ancestry or make a work traditional Sámi silver.
His practice combines silversmithing with other materials. The artist register describes the necklace New Horizons 1, dated 2026, as eucalyptus, pearl, silver and polyester. That list applies to this particular work, rather than the entire series or all his jewellery.
For collectors, the relationship between materials is part of the work's identity. Record metal, organic components and textile elements instead of reducing the whole object to silver jewellery. Retain its title, exhibition information and provenance. Visual resemblance or a place name on a label cannot establish authorship alone. Evidence identifying the artist should be kept separate from interpreting any marks; this article assigns no responsibility mark.
