Aristo
Aristo is a German watch brand associated with Pforzheim. The producer's history states that watchmaker Julius Epple founded the Aristo watch and watch-case factory in 1907. It also describes a revival under Hansjörg Vollmer in 1998. These are separate historical events, not alternative manufacturing dates for a particular watch.
In presenting its models, the producer highlights Swiss movements combined with Pforzheim watchmaking. A component specification must be distinguished from the production background of the complete watch. It cannot establish the movement inside an older Aristo without examination. The producer also describes its connection with Ernst Vollmer's metal watch-bracelet manufacture.
When buying, assess the dial, case back, movement and bracelet separately. A replacement bracelet does not automatically date the watch. Record references and service information and compare documentation from the appropriate period. Pilot-inspired styling is a design characteristic, not by itself evidence of a military commission or previous service use.
