Atlantic

Atlantic is a Swiss watch brand rooted in Eduard Kummer's EKB component business in Bettlach, established in 1888. Atlantic appeared on watches in the 1930s. The company became Atlantic Watch Ltd in 1953. Business origins, branding and the company name are separate milestones.

Worldmaster is an important model family. The name spans different versions and periods and cannot by itself establish a movement, production date or technical specification. A current Worldmaster need not share the construction of an older watch carrying that name.

Assess the reference, dial, case and movement together when buying a secondhand Atlantic. Compare the actual watch with documented model information, noting replacement parts or a refinished dial. Historical water-resistance claims do not establish present condition. Keep service history and evidence of originality separate from the broader history of the brand.
