Bruket glass studio (Vegard Johannessen and Sigrid Bjørbæk)

Bruket is a glass studio in Bodø, established in 2013 and run by Vegard Johannessen and Sigrid Bjørbæk. Its own presentation describes traditional glass techniques combined with contemporary design. Bruket identifies the shared practice, but does not by itself establish which artist made an individual work.

Two artists in one studio

The studio's sculptural glass page credits Osean, dated 2015, to Vegard Johannessen. Wax/Wane from the same year is credited to Sigrid Bjørbæk and described as blown forms subsequently sawn, engraved and sanded. These descriptions show why both authorship and processing should be recorded precisely. A technique documented for one work should not be assigned to the entire production.

Recording and assessment

Preserve the title, date, signature, labels and purchase information. Compare every component and dimension with documentation for the particular work. An exhibition date is not always its production date. Examine the surface before calling matt areas or working traces wear. Record chips, scratches and repairs separately. A glass object from Bodø is not automatically a Bruket piece, and association with a studio does not establish individual authorship.
