Christopher Ward
Christopher Ward is a British watch brand originating in the collaboration of Chris Ward, Mike France and Peter Ellis in 2004. Its own history dates the first watch launch to 2 June 2005, with the C5 Malvern Automatic and C3 Malvern Chronograph. The initial business idea and the product launch are therefore distinct milestones.
The SH21 movement
Calibre SH21 was launched in 2014. The manufacturer describes twin barrels and a 120-hour power reserve. These specifications belong to SH21, rather than to every watch carrying the Christopher Ward name. Record the brand and movement designation separately.
Identifying pre-owned watches
Note the model name, reference, size and case-back information. Compare dial, hands and functions with documentation from the correct period. Establish the movement fitted to the particular variant before describing its power reserve or winding system. Preserve receipts, service records and any original packaging as evidence. Wear, replacement parts and operation should be assessed separately from the brand's history and reputation. A verified model identification is more useful than borrowing specifications from a different watch in the same collection.
