Defakto
Defakto is a German watch brand founded by Raphael Ickler in 2009. The manufacturer links its background to the Ickler family's case-making tradition in Pforzheim. The earlier family business and the establishment of Defakto are separate historical events.
Reduced dial design is characteristic, with single-, two- and three-hand watches in the range. The manufacturer's description of Eins Inkognito identifies a single-hand version with a coarse time scale and no dial logo. Dialog is presented as a two-hand watch with a Ronda 712 quartz movement. It is therefore incorrect to describe all Defakto watches as mechanical or single-handed.
When buying or cataloguing, establish model, version and calibre together. A logo-free dial can be intentional and is not alone evidence of replacement. Conversely, a minimalist appearance does not prove the brand. Record reference, case back, dimensions and ownership history, comparing manufacturer information for the particular version.
