Delma

Delma is a Swiss watch brand rooted in Lengnau. Brothers Adolf and Albert Gilomen founded A. & A. Gilomen S.A. in 1924, using Delma among their early watch names. Following a takeover in 1966, the business became Delma Watch Ltd. The origin of the enterprise and the adoption of this company name therefore belong to different dates.

Its history includes both classic watches and sports models. The Shell Star diving-watch line dates back to the mid-1970s. A model name still needs to be matched to the correct generation: a current version does not provide the technical specification of every earlier watch bearing that name.

For an older Delma, compare dial wording, reference, case back and movement with documentation for the particular model. Check whether hands, crown and bracelet suit that version. Record service history and wear to the case and dial. An original diving-watch designation or an old depth rating does not by itself demonstrate present water resistance.
