Dornblüth & Sohn

Dornblüth & Sohn is a German watchmaking business associated with Dieter Dornblüth and his son Dirk. Its own history describes Dieter's movement project of 1959 and the father and son's return to that idea in 1999. An early development project and the later watchmaking venture are therefore separate events.

The brand emphasises traditional watchmaking tools and workshop finishing. Its calibre 99.1 model features a large subsidiary seconds display at six, flame-blued steel hands and a decorated movement with a three-quarter plate. These are documented features of this version, rather than complete specifications for every watch bearing the name.

For pre-owned examples, compare model and calibre details, case, dial and serial number with the maker's documentation. Dimensions, displays and other features vary between models. Historic styling does not automatically make a watch an antique; assess production period, service history and any significant replacement parts.
