Doxa
Doxa is a Swiss watch brand with roots in Georges Ducommun's business in Le Locle in 1889. Its history includes pocket watches, dress wristwatches and diving watches. The brand name should therefore not be treated as if it denotes only one type of timepiece.
SUB 300
The SUB 300 was introduced in 1967 and is particularly associated with its orange dial. This is an important brand milestone, but an orange dial alone establishes neither model, age nor originality. Model names such as SUB 300 and SUB 300T must be recorded precisely, not treated as one reference.
Original watch or later components?
Document wording and marks on dial, case and case back. Compare hands, bezel, bracelet and calibre with sources for the actual variant. State what is known about replacements and service. A worn original component and a later replacement are different facts, even if both function.
Condition needs its own assessment
Historical diving specifications do not establish present water resistance. Do not describe an older Doxa as ready for diving without relevant checks. When selling, separate running tests, functions, visible damage and documented maintenance from general information about the brand's reputation.
