Ellen V. Larsson

Ellen V. Larsson is a Swedish-born glass artist working in Norway, associated with Hett Glass in Lillehammer. In her presentation for Norske Kunsthåndverkere, she states that she began learning glassblowing at Kosta glasscenter in 2007. Her work ranges from useful objects to experimental individual pieces.

A central feature is the meeting of glass with other materials, including wood and copper wire. Her artist presentation documents Berries from 2017, combining bubble-like forms and braided copper wire, alongside lamps with copper-wire mesh and turned wooden parts. Buskerud Art Centre also presents copper-wire vases and objects incorporating reused glass, and describes her interest in sandblasted surface decoration.

To assess a possible Larsson work, compare the object with documented models and any signature, label or receipt. Copper mesh around glass alone is insufficient for attribution. Inspect the glass and the junctions between materials, recording alterations to wire, wood or other parts. Examine deliberate surface decoration carefully before describing it as damage.
