Formex
Formex is a Swiss watch brand established in 1999 and based in Biel/Bienne. Its history links its designs to motorsport and a sprung case construction called the Case Suspension System. Essence and Reef are key collection names.
This suspension is a case feature, not a movement designation. The manufacturer's documentation for the Essence ThirtyNine Black Pearl describes an automatic Sellita SW200-2 Power+ movement. That specification cannot automatically be applied to earlier Essence versions or other Formex models.
For a used watch, establish the reference and variant before comparing specifications. Examine operation, bracelet or strap, clasp and service history. Original packaging and papers can assist identification but must match the actual watch. Stated water resistance should not replace a current condition assessment.
