Frantzsen&Mjanger

Frantzsen&Mjanger is an artist duo established in January 2017 by Maria Almås Frantzsen and Ruth Hol Mjanger, associated with Bergen and Oslo. Frantzsen's art training specialises in glass, while Mjanger has a background in drama. Their practice brings glass craft together with performative and participatory contemporary art.

Breath as part of the work

S12 Gallery and Workshop documents Expressions of breath, titled Avtrykk av pust in Norwegian, in October 2018. Bergen residents were invited to give their breath a form in glass. The resulting shapes were assembled on a wall in S12's project room. Public participation thus contributed to both the making process and the presentation.

Documenting a glass object

The name denotes an artistic collaboration rather than a historical glass factory. Record work title, materials, provenance and any documented project association. Distinguish an individual glass shape from a component of a larger artwork. An organic glass form alone is insufficient evidence for attribution to this duo.
