Geir Olsen

Geir Olsen is a Norwegian glassblower and the founder of Kongsfoss Glass in Åmot, Modum. He began working at Hadeland Glassverk in 1976 and established Kongsfoss Glass in 2002. His personal name and the workshop name identify different aspects of the same documented practice.

Kongsfoss Glass states that its products are mouth-blown and formed freehand at the Åmot studio. The range includes drinking glasses, jugs and bowls. Tableware describes an object's function, while workshop and production information help establish its origin.

Keep labels, receipts and information from previous owners with secondhand pieces. Colour or shape resembling a known product is insufficient by itself to attribute a glass to Olsen. Compare dimensions, details and documented designs as well. Distinguish ordinary variations in handmade work from damage, examining rims, bases and repaired breaks. The workshop's founding year does not automatically date every individual object.
