Glasshytta Blåst (Tromsø)
Glasshytta Blåst is a glassblowing workshop in Tromsø, established in 2002 according to its presentation through Visit Tromsø. It describes its own designs and handmade workshop production, including series of functional glass and commissioned pieces. This is modern Norwegian studio glass, not an eighteenth- or nineteenth-century glassworks.
Workshop name and object
Norway's business register links BLÅST AS to Strandvegen 6 in Tromsø and blaast.no. A documented company identity must nevertheless be distinguished from identifying an individual object. Not all hand-blown glass from northern Norway was made at Blåst.
Recording and buying
Retain labels, signatures, packaging and receipts. Photograph the base and compare form, dimensions and colour with documented models. Bubbles, irregularities or a particular base mark alone prove neither workshop nor age. Describe chips and scratches clearly, and distinguish a workshop attribution from a broader description such as hand-blown studio glass.
