Silvia Rehnlund, goldsmith

Silvia Rehnlund is the goldsmith behind Smia Silvia at Kalsnes in Vesterålen, Norway. Hadsel municipality's 2016 art brochure records a goldsmith's journeyman qualification from Plus-skolen in Fredrikstad in 2003. This documents professional training, but should not be converted into an unsupported claim of master goldsmith status.

The brochure presents four brooches made for the decoration of Melbu school, themed around the four seasons. The workshop profile at Kvinnene fra havet describes locally designed and produced precious-metal jewellery, including brooches and rings. Repairs and special commissions are also mentioned. A piece repaired by the workshop was not necessarily designed or originally made there.

To identify a possible work, compare its motif, construction and provenance with documented models or information from the workshop. Record fineness and other marks separately. The sources used here do not establish a particular responsibility mark. A mark should therefore not be attributed to Rehnlund merely because a jewel has a natural motif or a connection with Vesterålen.
