Truls Ambjørnsen, jeweller
Truls Ambjørnsen is a jewellery business rooted in Fredrikstad, Norway. Truls Ambjørnsen established his own workshop in 1930 and opened a shop in Storgata four years later. The firm's history subsequently names Truls Petter and Truls Martin as later generations. The name therefore refers both to a historical founder and to a family business spanning several generations.
The business combines retailing outside brands with goldsmith services. Its workshop presentation includes chain repairs, ring sizing, work on stone settings and remodelling inherited jewellery. These activities make it important to distinguish the seller from the maker when describing an older piece.
Keep an Ambjørnsen box or receipt as evidence of a retailer or service relationship. It does not by itself identify the designer or manufacturer. Record all marks, metal information and repair documents together. Attribute a particular responsibility mark only when documentation connects it to the relevant person or firm.
