Gullsmed Vinjerui
Gullsmed Vinjerui is a goldsmithing business in Dalen, Telemark, with roots dating to 1911. Business presentations published by its partners Noor Edelmetall and VITO Design describe Nora Vinjerui as the fourth generation in the family tradition.
Workshop and shop
The VITO presentation identifies an in-house workshop producing traditional bunad silver. The shop also sells goods from Scandinavian suppliers, alongside other design and interior products. Vinjerui should therefore be understood as both a workshop business and a retailer. A jewel bought there was not necessarily made in its own workshop.
Older bunad silver and provenance
When recording a brooch or another jewel, document the executing goldsmith, any designer and the retailer separately. Compare receipts and commission details with marks, dimensions and construction. A regional pattern or a box bearing the shop's name alone is not secure maker identification. The date 1911 concerns the business's historical roots, not the age of an individual object or necessarily the registration date of its present legal form.
