Høvda Sølv (Inger Norunn Solhaug)
Høvda Sølv is associated with silversmith Inger Norunn Solhaug at Høvda in Øystre Slidre. A Langsveien report from July 2025 documents handmade jewellery and traditional dress silver, including collections and commissioned pieces.
The report also describes her reproductions of older jewellery, including a neck button from Sebuødegården in Skrautvål. This matters when assessing traditional ornaments: an old design may continue in newer production. The age of a prototype and that of a particular surviving example are separate facts.
When cataloguing, record the model, maker and documented purchase history. Photograph marks, reverse and fastening, and state whether the piece is a newer interpretation of an older design. A workshop name alone cannot establish who made every component. This article attributes no responsibility mark and does not extend uncertain information about the historical button's metal origin to other objects.
