Ingrid Nord

Ingrid Nord is a Norwegian glass artist trained at Edinburgh College of Art. The Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts describes a practice bringing graphic expression into contact with glass and everyday motifs. The relationship between image and three-dimensional form is central, and childhood memories provide a starting point for several works.

The 2008 Home party exhibition at S12 offers a concrete example. Nord and photographer Magnus Bjerk explored Tupperware and ideas of home. Nord showed, among other works, solid glass blocks with internal impressions of household objects. Bjerk's photographs were printed on acrylic glass. Their collaboration should therefore not lead to the photographer's works being described as Nord's glass blocks, or vice versa.

When buying, record artist, title, material, dimensions and any exhibition history together. A motif resembling a plastic container does not alone establish whether a work is cast glass, photography or another material. Use documentation for the particular piece rather than visual similarity alone. Preserve information about collaborating artists, distinguishing them from the workshop's name.
