Iron Annie
Iron Annie is a watch brand associated with the German producer POINTtec. The brand's own instruction booklet explains that the name refers to the Junkers aircraft registered D-AQUI, which acquired the nickname Iron Annie. This explains the inspiration; it does not document an individual wristwatch having been used aboard the aircraft.
POINTtec has documented Iron Annie among its brands and production at the watch assembly operation in Ruhla. The name also appears in the later designation bauhaus Aviation Iron Annie. An older Iron Annie branded watch and a model carrying this longer series name should therefore be identified from their own references.
Photograph the dial and case back and record the model number before seeking instructions or ordering parts. The available producer's booklet covers several automatic calibres, not every watch bearing the name. Use only setting instructions and technical details applicable to the actual movement. An aviation motif establishes neither production year nor military use.
