Jacques Lemans is a watch and jewellery brand founded by Alfred Riedl in 1974. The company presents a broad range with both classic and sporting designs. The brand name alone does not establish the movement, manufacturing location or materials of an individual watch.

One example: Eco Power

The manufacturer's 2022 Eco Power catalogue documents solar-powered watches charged by light. It includes Solar Wood models with wooden inlays and Solar Pearl models with mother of pearl. These materials and technical arrangements concern the specified models. Such a catalogue helps identification but does not establish that every older Jacques Lemans watch has solar power, the same crystal or the same water resistance.

What to examine

Start with the watch's reference number and compare it with a catalogue or instruction manual for the same variant. Distinguish the model name from a calibre designation and check agreement between dial, case back and documentation. Record any replacement strap or bracelet. Brand history provides context; age, originality and actual function require assessment of each example. A French-sounding brand name alone is not evidence of French manufacture.
