Jaeger-LeCoultre
Jaeger-LeCoultre is a Swiss watch brand rooted in the workshop Antoine LeCoultre established at Le Sentier in the Vallée de Joux in 1833. Collaboration between Edmond Jaeger and Jacques-David LeCoultre began in 1903. The Jaeger-LeCoultre name followed when the companies combined in 1937.
Historical models
Reverso appeared in 1931 with a reversible case developed to protect the watch during polo. The company also produced many other watches and calibres, so the Reverso construction or any single calibre does not represent all production.
Identification
Older watches may be marked LeCoultre, Jaeger or Jaeger-LeCoultre according to period and market. Examine dial, movement, case, reference and serial number together. Later replacement parts and refinished dials affect assessment.
