Jaguar
Jaguar is a Swiss watch brand which, according to its own history, was established by Peter Haas in Muralto in 1938. Coming from a watchmaking family, he chose the jaguar as the new brand's symbol. Jaguar is also listed among the brands of Festina Group.
The name and animal symbol are useful starting points for identification, but must be connected with a particular watch. The brand's online shop distinguishes, for example, automatic watches and Connected models. A recent product range is not a technical specification for every older Jaguar watch.
Record the caseback reference, photograph the dial and case, and locate documentation for that model. Movement, functions and service history provide more information than the logo alone. A jaguar motif by itself also does not establish that a watch belongs to this brand. Crystal, case material and water-resistance information must be specific to the model.
