Jeanne-Sophie Aas
Jeanne-Sophie Aas is a glass artist and one of the artists behind Oslo Glass Studio at Kirkeristen. Her individual practice includes jewellery, functional art, sculpture and installation. Distinguish the artist's name from that of the shared workshop when recording a particular work.
Techniques and documented works
The studio presentation describes a practice including glassblowing, kiln techniques, stained glass and cold working. Norske Kunsthåndverkere describes Origin, mirrored from 2022 as hot-shaped glass with wheel-carved decoration and polished facets. Metamorphosis I, from the same year, combines pulled glass threads with a reclaimed vintage hairbrush. These works demonstrate different ways of working and combining glass, rather than one uniform production method.
Documentation and condition
When buying, retain the title, date, signature and any gallery documentation or receipt. Purchase from a shared studio alone does not identify the individual maker. Describe edges, facets and material junctions carefully. Distinguish intended surface treatment from chips, cracks and subsequent damage by comparing documented images of the particular work.
