Kari Håkonsen

Kari Håkonsen is a glass artist working in Norway working with blown and cast glass, sometimes in combination. She runs Klart Glass with Vidar Koksvik, with activities at Tjura in Grue and Bærums Verk.

Materials and documented works

Her practice includes solid glass with optical effects as well as thinner, shaped glass. Galleri Format documents Hildring from 2016 as blown, cut and polished glass. Kvern from 2022 is kiln-cast and finished by grinding and polishing. These descriptions concern named works and should not be treated as a technical specification for her entire output.

Identification and condition

Compare an object's title, signature, dimensions and provenance with documented works. Distinguish the artist's individual work from functional glass associated only with the shared workshop. Describe material combinations and any damage or replacements. A similar shape or optical effect is insufficient evidence for a secure attribution to Håkonsen.
