Kari Mølstad
Kari Mølstad is a Norwegian glass artist working with functional objects and sculptural glass forms. Her training includes glass studies in Orrefors and on Bornholm. She came to Lillehammer in 2009 in connection with establishing Hett Glass. In a later personal presentation she describes working independently and renting facilities for glassblowing.
A distinctive feature is the combination of hot forming with extensive coldworking. She uses diamond wheels to create grooves and surface structures, and a diamond saw in some works. Matt and polished areas, light and shadow influence the perception of form. The marks are therefore part of the artistic expression, rather than necessarily damage or ordinary wear.
For a particular work, retain its title, dimensions, known year and information about materials and technique. Keep receipts and any exhibition documentation. Do not treat a Hett Glass connection as proof that every production stage of every work took place there. Distinguish intended cutting from later chips or flaking, and base the attribution on documentation.
