Kari Ulleberg

Kari Ulleberg is a Norwegian glass artist and designer trained at Orrefors in Sweden. Her work includes drinking glasses, bowls, flacons and candleholders. Her workshop history encompasses Fossekleiva at Berger and subsequently Union Brygge in Drammen, working with Maud Forsblad.

Artist and producer are different roles

Drammens Museum also documents Ulleberg's design work for Hadeland Glassverk. Norway's National Museum acquisition list for 2019 records the drinking glasses Stout and Bock/Bayer, dated 2010, with Ulleberg as artist and Glasshytta Union as producer. These provide concrete comparisons without making all her glass Hadeland products.

Identifying an object

Record shape, dimensions, colour, decoration and base. Compare with a confirmed model and transcribe any signature accurately. A known design date or museum object's date does not automatically apply to a similar object for sale.

Distinguish designing from who blew or decorated an individual glass. Describe chips, cracks, ground edges and later alterations. A general description such as Norwegian studio glass is more accurate than a firm personal attribution when documentation is absent.

Browse glass and crystal.
