Karin Forslund
Karin Forslund is a Swedish-born glass artist connected with Norway's craft-art scene through work in Haugesund. She trained in glass in Sweden, Denmark and the United States. Her practice includes glass objects, installations and video rather than a single category of functional glassware.
The Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts documents kiln-cast pieces among her work. Material properties and the relationship between craft and art are central concerns. Transparency, opacity and reflection may form part of the expression. She received a Scheibler award in 2025.
For an individual work, useful records include title, date, technique, dimensions and exhibition or purchase documentation. A particular colour or structure alone cannot establish an attribution to Forslund. Distinguish the artist from any executing collaborator and the gallery that sold the piece. Examine condition under lighting that reveals surfaces and edges, documenting repairs separately rather than treating them as part of the original design.
