Kirsten Vikingstad Hermansson
Kirsten Vikingstad Hermansson is a Norwegian glass artist based in Jämshög, Sweden. Her education includes the glass school in Orrefors, the design school on Bornholm and UMPRUM in Prague. Her sculptural practice combines techniques including casting, cutting and hot-shop forming.
Corning Museum of Glass hosted her as a guest artist from 10 to 14 November 2025. Its presentation describes abstract sculptures with bold colour combinations and references to power and ownership. It also records her earlier work at Formbar in Haugesund. Her name identifies an individual artistic practice, not another name for the glass studio.
When assessing a possible work, compare title, dimensions, photographs and documented ownership history. Colour or a tower shape alone cannot establish attribution. Compare visible joins and formed surfaces with documented works to distinguish them from later damage. Record signatures or labels precisely, but do not assign a signature form to the artist without verified comparative evidence.
