Kristine Ervik
Kristine Ervik is a Norwegian jewellery artist working with silver, steel and brass. She completed a master's degree at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2019, with exchange studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts. Her work ranges from jewellery worn close to the body to more extensive woven constructions.
Her methods include metal forging, chain techniques and surface treatments. The 2025 exhibition Oh, this old thing? at Format Oslo connected casting, cold forging and chainmail structures with the body, ageing and change. These details belong to that documented context and should not be treated as fixed characteristics of every work.
For a second-hand piece, examine material, dimensions, movement and connections alongside title and provenance. A dark surface may be intentional patination and should not automatically be polished away. A retailer's name does not replace evidence of authorship.
