Kurono Tokyo
Kurono Tokyo is a Japanese watch brand associated with designer and watchmaker Hajime Asaoka. In the brand's own presentation he explains his wish to make his design language available through watches more accessible than his handmade atelier pieces. The two productions must be distinguished.
Design work includes dial layout, typography, hands and case forms. Calendrier Type I is a specific example with a full calendar showing weekday, date and month, and a Japanese Miyota 9122 movement. Other Kurono watches do not automatically share its calibre or functions.
Establish the complete model name, reference and accompanying papers when buying used. A name or signature on a dial alone does not establish how the movement was produced. Consult the model's instructions before adjusting its calendar and assess the individual watch's condition and service needs.
