Laco
Laco is a German watch brand associated with Pforzheim. The manufacturer traces its history to Lacher & Co., established in 1925. Particularly known for pilot's watches, the name also covers other watch types and different movements.
Historical background
During the Second World War, Laco was among the makers supplying pilot's watches to the German Luftwaffe. This historical supply connection does not establish military provenance for any individual Laco watch. The firm also describes relaunching historically inspired pilot's watches in the early 2000s.
Original or later model?
A large, legible dial does not prove age. Check the reference, case, movement, dial and any delivery documents together. Modern versions may resemble older watches without being contemporary with them. A brand name on the dial also does not mean that every movement component was manufactured by that company. Document servicing and replacements when assessing collector interest.
