Limes (watch brand)
Limes is a German watch brand associated with Ickler in Pforzheim. Its own history states that Thomas Ickler established Limes in 1980. Karl Ickler founded the family company in 1924. The brand's beginning and the company's foundation are therefore separate dates.
The range includes classic watches, pilot's watches and divers. As a specific example, the manufacturer lists Endurance II B.L, reference U8778-LA2.2, with an automatic Sellita SW 200-1 and an Ickler case. This is a model specification, not a description of every Limes watch.
When cataloguing an older example, record model family, reference, dial variant and calibre separately. Compare contemporary manufacturer documentation. Inspect case back, crown and any rotating bezel for replacements and wear. The connections of both Limes and Archimede to Ickler do not make them the same watch brand. Do not identify a loose case as a complete Limes watch without further evidence.
