Linn Kalseth
Linn Kalseth is a glass artist who graduated on Bornholm in 2004. Norske Glasskunstnere presents her with the Formlab workshop at Eliborg Kulturhus in Gratangen. Her work includes sculpture, unique pieces and public commissions, using techniques such as casting, blowing, kiln forming and grinding.
Glass in public spaces
Her Norske Kunsthåndverkere profile documents Grenseland, from 2007, as a sculpture in kiln-formed glass and iron at Tranøy Sculpture Park. It also describes Vær, from 2010, at Tromsø Fire Station: cast glass drops with engraved text and backlighting. Such works require descriptions of their particular materials and context, rather than classification as a general series of blown functional glass.
Names and attribution
Kalseth previously helped run Celsiusglas in Copenhagen. This name should not be confused with Celsius Glass Studio in Langevåg. When assessing a separate glass object, compare signature, title, dimensions and provenance with documented works. Association with the same workshop or similarity of colour does not establish the individual maker.
