Lise Schønberg
Lise Schønberg is a Norwegian goldsmith and jewellery artist from Kristiansand, born in 1945. Kunstnerforbundet's CV records her craft certificate in 1969, a Kristiansand studio from 1976 and master certificate in 1981.
Her work combines precious metals with other materials. Norsk kunstnerleksikon identifies silver alongside wood, plastic, mother-of-pearl and feathers. These contrasts form part of the artistic expression, so metal weight alone cannot explain a piece.
Keep the artist's name, work title, material list and provenance together when buying or cataloguing. A gallery or retailer may have handled a work without making it. Compare documented works and evidence for the particular object before attribution. Do not remove unusual components without establishing their role.
