Margareth Troli
Margareth Troli is a Norwegian glass artist from Beiarn who combines digital production processes with traditional glassmaking. She completed a doctorate at the University of Sunderland in 2011 involving waterjet cutting and studio glass. Her practice includes individual objects and site-specific art.
Techniques should be linked to particular works. Her own presentation describes casting, grinding and polishing for the Illusionary Space Series, where light, shadow and different surfaces create optical effects. Aurora Syntax, dated 2014, is a glass and light installation at Kulturfabrikken in Sortland. A smaller collectible object and such an installation should not be treated as the same kind of production.
Identification should include a documented title, technique, dimensions and provenance. Clear and matt surfaces alone do not establish authorship. Check edges and transitions, distinguishing intentional surface treatment from later damage.
