Medal for Long and Faithful Service
Norges Vel’s Medal for Long and Faithful Service was first awarded in 1888. It depicts a seated woman with a wreath, engraved by Ivar Throndsen after Brynjulf Bergslien’s design.
From 1946, the medal measures about 31 mm and has a ribbon. The Norwegian Mint documents silver fineness of 998/1000 until 2011, then 925/1000. Edge marks are not universal. Check the individual medal’s date, engraving and diploma.
