Antique Norwegian brass wall sconces with the Norwegian coat of arms lion, c. 1910

A fine pair of Norwegian brass wall sconces from around 1910, decorated with the Norwegian coat of arms lion. The detailed lion motifs give the sconces a distinctive, historical character and make them decorative examples of Norwegian metalwork from the early 1900s.

The sconces have a warm, natural patina that bears witness to their age and use. They are sold together as a pair. One of the candle cups sits somewhat loose, which buyers should be aware of. The fitting should be checked before the sconces are used with live candles.
