Mondaine

Mondaine is a Swiss watch brand that traces its business history to Erwin Bernheim in 1951. Its familiar railway inspired appearance has a separate origin: Hans Hilfiker designed the Swiss station clock in 1944. Mondaine introduced the officially licensed Classic wristwatch collection in 1986.

These years concern different parts of the history. A watch with this dial design was therefore not automatically made in 1944 or 1951. Design authorship, manufacturer and production date must be distinguished.
